Built-Ins and Furniture, Made to Fit the Room Bookcases, mudrooms, trim and one-off pieces- Savannah and the islands.

Built to the room

Measured on site, built in the shop, scribed to your walls. Nothing off a shelf.

Solid materials

Hardwood and quality ply, joined properly, finished to last.

One point of contact

You deal with me from the first measure to the last piece of trim. No account manager, no handoff.

Made to Fit, Not to Fill

A built-in is not furniture you push against a wall. It is measured to the room it lives in, scribed to walls that are never quite square, and finished so the joint between the piece and the house disappears. That is the whole point of building it rather than buying it.

Most of what I build is storage that had nowhere to go: an awkward alcove, a stair landing, a laundry that needed a wall of cabinets rather than a rack. If you have a space that has annoyed you for years, that is usually the job.

What I Build

Three kinds of work, and they overlap more often than not. A mudroom is built-ins and trim together; a dining room is often a table and the millwork around it.

Built-Ins & Storage

Bookcases, media walls, window seats, mudroom lockers, closet systems and pantry fit-outs. Scribed to the wall and finished so it reads as part of the house.

Trim & Millwork

Crown, baseboard, wainscoting, accent walls, coffered ceilings, stair parts and mantels. The work that makes a room look finished rather than just painted.

Furniture & Tables

Dining tables, benches, consoles and one-off pieces, including live-edge slabs. Built to a size that suits your room instead of a size that suits a warehouse.

Five star Google review

Morgan finished off a hall closet project for me by installing the molding. He did a nice job in just a day.  – Dorothy F.

Five star Google review

Morgan is not only a consummate professional, but a kind and genuine individual. So happy to have met and worked with him. If you make the same choice, you won’t regret it!  – Chaad D.

Where the Work Shows

The parts nobody photographs are the parts that decide whether a built-in looks made for the house or bolted onto it. Reveals kept even. Grain matched across doors. Scribes cut to the wall rather than caulked to it.

None of it costs much extra at the time of building. All of it is impossible to add later, which is why I would rather do it once and do it properly.

Fitted Around Your House

Your house is lived in while I work in it. Floors get covered, cuts happen outside where they can, and the room is swept before I leave for the day. You will know which days I am there and which days I am not.

How I Price It

You get a written price before I start and a date I intend to finish by. If something is going to slip, you hear it from me first.

Built-ins and storage

Size, layout and style are what move the price on a built-in. I will measure, and we will settle those between us before I give you a number.

Trim and millwork

I price trim by the room, and most of it is finished within a few days.

Furniture and tables

Once we have settled on the wood and the size, I will quote the piece and tell you how long it will take in the shop.

Tell me about the space

Send a photo of the wall or the room and rough dimensions if you have them, and I will come and look at it.
